Jenelle shot to fame starring in an episode of 16 and Pregnant for its second season in 2010. She was then chosen for the spinoff series, Teen Mom 2, and quickly gained more popularity. Over the years, she's made money with various other career moves, such as a book in 2017 called Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom. Since her firing from MTV, Jenelle claims her upcoming makeup line JE Cosmetics will be launching soon, with a reported date of Sept. 2019 according to the company's Instagram page.

After multiple toxic relationships which were documented on MTV, Jenelle married David Eason in 2017. While things seemed good between the two early on in their relationship, things took a turn for the worse and Teen Mom 2 fans got a taste of David's negative actions. For instance, he was fired from the series in 2018 after posting homophobic and transphobic messages on Twitter. Later that year, Jenelle called 911 on David and claimed he assaulted her. She later denied this happened, even though the audio was released.
