JJ Abrams is Apparently the Only One Who Knows the Title of 'Star Wars: Episode IX'
By Hannah Wigandt

At this point, the suspense for even simply the title of the long awaited Star Wars: Episode IX is killing us. Fans are desperate for anything, even just a crumb of information about the film, so we can all speculate deeper into the final chapter of the Skywalker series while we wait for its release.
Many are growing more and more impatient by the day, even going to such lengths as DMing the cast to see if they can get anything out of them (they won’t, obviously, so it’s been a futile attempt). But that didn't stop one fan from asking actor Dominic Monaghan to reveal the title.
When one asked on Instagram, “Episode IX title? Pretty please?,” Monaghan replied, “Only [J.J. Abrams] knows! It's good to have secrets on [Star Wars].” Abrams, of course, is the director of the film, and apparently, he hasn’t even told the cast the name. Whether or not this is actually true, though, is up for debate.

But if so, just because the cast is left in the dark like the rest of us doesn't mean they can’t still tease fans online. A prime example is Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, who lives to poke fun at desperate Star Wars fans on social media.
Hamill recently tweeted a picture from Futurama, stating the animated show had predicted the title years ago, which is “Yoda’s Bar Mitzvah.” Clearly, he was being sarcastic.
Disappointed there was no #StarWars trailer shown during the #SuperBowl? Agonizing over how long you'll have to wait until they drop the title? Hopefully a title comes out soon, especially considering the film hits theaters this year. Episode IX is due out Dec. 20, 2019.
