VIDEO: Lamar Odom Says He Hopes He Can Become Close With the Kardashians Again

For Lamar Odom, the last few months have been a time of revitalization and reflection. Since the release of his memoir, Darkness to Light, earlier this year, Lamar has made himself open about his past mistakes, particularly those related to ex-wife Khloé Kardashian and her family--and this week, he confessed in a video interview that he hopes that he can become close with the family again.
In an interview with TMZ, Lamar shared that, despite their difficulties, his time with the Kardashians was deeply meaningful. “Doing reality TV and being married to Khloé, besides having children and besides me doing this motivational speaking that I'm going to start doing, that was the most memorable part and the best part of my adulthood,” he said. “So, there's nothing I regret about that."
“Hopefully, me going to public speaking can even bring me closer to the Kardashians and help me rebuild that bridge,” Lamar added.
Lamar’s relationship with the Kardashian family has been tumultuous. After marrying Khloé one month after meeting her in 2009, he became heavily involved in substance abuse, resulting in domestic strife, infidelity, and a near-fatal overdose in 2015. While they did divorce following Lamar’s recovery, he has recently expressed that he loves Khloé and hopes to be able to reconcile with her.
Khloé, for her part, has not responded one way or another to this suggestion, though she has expressed enthusiasm for Lamar’s book and, according to him, spoke with him about it after its publication.
While we’re not exactly sure whether Lamar and Khloé will be able to rekindle their relationship, stranger things have happened--and regardless, it’s good to see him so enthusiastic about a reconciliation with the Kardashian family.
