Stan Lee to Be Honored With Tribute Event Involving Mark Hamill and More Stars

Although Stan Lee was 95 when he passed away this past November, no fan was ready to imagine a world without the comic book mogul. Lee was a writer, editor, producer, actor, and publisher who was also the former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics. Along with various collaborators, Lee co-created iconic superheroes such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Hulk, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Avengers, and more. In more recent years, fans looked forward to his cameos in Marvel films.

Needless to say, he’ll always be missed.

Now, Lee is receiving a well deserved tribute event, appropriately titled “Excelsior! A Stan Lee Celebration.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Smith, Legion M, Agents of Mayhem, and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment are backing the event, which will also serve as a benefit for The Hero Initiative, a nonprofit organization which helps comic book creators, writers and artists in need.

Mark Hamill, Rob Liefeld, Michael Uslan, Vincent D’Onofrio, RZA, and Tom DeSanto will all be in attendance, taking part in conversations led by Smith.

“We are honored for this chance for Stan’s fans and friends to come together in a celebration of his remarkable life,” POW! CEO Scott D. Williams stated. “Despite his passing, Stan’s name, work and legacy will continue to flourish and be revealed to the world. We are committed to honor Stan’s extraordinary life and work.”

The event will take place on Jan. 30 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, with both public and private tributes. Click here to learn how to buy tickets.
