​As fans mourn Marvel mogul ​Stan Lee, the actors who brought his memorable heroes to life also flocked to social media in remembrance. Lee, who was a longtime writer, editor and Marvel chief, is responsible for the success of heroes like Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.

The superhero stars each honored Lee in their own ways, including incredibly touching notes about the comic genius.

Chris Pratt, who has starred in numerous Marvel movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War, took to Twitter to share his tribute to Lee.

​​Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, posted his tribute on Tuesday morning. 

Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine, posted thoughtful words on Twitter on Monday.

Scarlett Johansson, who plays the impressive Black Widow, wrote her thanks on Twitter.

Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in several Marvel movies and television shows, paid his respects on Twitter on Monday.

Chris Evans, or Captain America, had some kind words to stay about Lee on Twitter.

Robert Downey Jr., who portrays Iron Man, took to Instagram to honor Lee. "I owe it all to you,,, Rest In Peace Stan... #MCU #Excelsior #legend #rip #stanlee #TeamStark," he captioned the post.

​​One of the more recent actors to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Holland, who first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, posted his tribute to Lee on Instagram on Monday.
