Selena Gomez Starring in New Hulu Series 'Only Murders In the Building' With Steve Martin and Martin Short

Selena Gomez is to star alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in a new Hulu show titled Only Murders In The Building.
According to Deadline, the series was created and written by Martin and John Hoffman and based on an idea by Martin. The premise follows three true crime obsessed strangers (Martin, Short and Gomez). Inevitably, all three characters find themselves in comedic true crime situations of their own.
Hulu’s Craig Erwich (head of originals) told Deadline that he knows a hit when he hears the pitch for one and explained how Only Murders In The Building unexpectedly caught his ear, saying, “It’s really special, surprisingly emotional. It’s really modern and self-referential about podcasts and murders, it’s got some great surprises. When they pull this off, it’s going to be really special.”
As of late, Selena seems pretty busy. On top of the new series, the13 Reasons Why producer will star and executive produce the upcoming HBO Max cooking reality series Selena + Chef. Earlier this year, the singer/actress dropped a new album, Rare, and is currently teaming up with Sephora for a makeup collaboration called Rare Beauty.
After a lengthy hiatus, Gomez obviously knew she had something special on her hands when the upcoming Hulu series script came along. Only Murders In The Building will mark Selena's highly-anticipated return to making TV magic. And she's come a long, long way from Wizards of Waverly Place.
