Leah Messer Opens Up on Having an Abortion and Lying to Jeremy Calvert About it in New Memoir

Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has a new book coming out next month, and the mother-of-three doesn't hold back on dealing with the struggles she has faced in it.
The Sun reveals that although it seemed Messer suffered a miscarriage with former husband Jeremy Calvert on season four of Teen Mom 2, her memoir states that she actually lied and had an abortion. The book, titled Hope, Grace & Faith, not only deals with Leah's experience on Teen Mom 2, but her, "struggle to rise to the challenges of motherhood, through her harrowing journey to find a diagnosis for one of her twin girls with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and the collapse of two marriages." The title of the book is a reference to her daughter's middle names, and you can pre-order it here.

As reported by The Sun, Messer began dating Jeremy Calvert soon after her divorce from Corey Simms, even though she “definitely wasn’t over” him. Despite both Corey and Leah having second thoughts about ending their marriage, Leah moved in with Jeremy and quickly became pregnant. “I was devastated. Having a baby with Jeremy would be the end of any chance Corey and I had of making things work for our family. I was sad for myself, but mostly I was sad for our girls. I knew I had f**ked up, and I felt like I had ruined their lives on top of mine," Leah writes.
Apparently, both her mom Dawn and her television rep came up with an idea to trick Jeremy into thinking Leah was having a miscarriage when she had actually aborted the baby. In the memoir, Leah recalls, “When [my mom] told him I was having a miscarriage the way she played the role of concerned mother was so damn convincing even I couldn’t tell she was lying." The MTV personality called the experience "the worst thing [she] had ever been through,” and revealed that until she told Jeremey the truth, she "carried the pain and the guilt" about lying to him for years.
It seems that Leah no longer feels regret about her decision, and hopefully fans will reflect on that and other lessons in the memoir, which will be available on May 5.
