Leah Messer Reveals She Was Sexually and Physically Abused as a Child During Instagram Q&A

Leah Messer just opened up big time, reports The Sun.

On Instagram Live, the reality star set out to promote her memoir, Hope, Grace & Faith. Little did fans know, this promotional Q&A would quickly becoming an incredibly revealing heart to heart. It seemed like a genuine moment for Leah as well.

One of the biggest reveals came when she began discussing her formative childhood traumas. Messer said, “They’ll understand the childhood drama and co-dependency in relationships. Everything I endured in my childhood from sexual abuse to physical abuse was probably the hardest thing.”

The Teen Mom 2 star continued to discuss how her troubled past and the abuse paved the way for who she is to day, her perspective, and how she can help others who have struggled with similar battles. One of the other main points of discussion was her relationship with her father and his issues with opioid addiction.

Leah stated, “With the opioid epidemic we are facing today, my dad always ties into that. I started doing my own research on when my dad started struggling with addiction and why he struggled with addiction.” She went on to explain that she plans to help provide treatment facilities in West Virginia, adding, “Whatever I have to do to do that, I will do. I’ve been there. I went through it. I’ve done it.”
