Jon Snow was without a doubt one of the best characters on Game of Thrones, and the divisive conclusion of his arc in the series finale was a curveball most fans didn't expect. After the shocking reveal that Jon and Daenerys were related, with the northerner actually having a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne, what fans expected to be the end-game storyline amounted to little more than a fun fact. Dany's demise and Jon's return to the Wall were gut-wrenching to watch after seeing their characters grow so much. There was even a petition started asking that the HBO hit's final season be remade with "competent writers." Actors from the show have commented on the much-debated final episode, and Kit Harington is again following suit.

As reported by Winter is Coming, Harington appeared in a Q&A session on Twitter with @purple_dwagon, where he discussed his thoughts on Jon's fate.

“When people say to me, ‘I wish you’d been on the Throne, or I wish you’d been with Dany on the Throne,’ I disagree because Jon’s place was always in the North. He’d never have been happy in the South. He’s like Ned Stark,” Harington explained, "He belongs North of the Wall." The Golden Globe nominee then surprisingly revealed that he's still never seen the series finale! You can check out the full clip below.

Even if the final episode didn't see Jon Snow on the Throne, at least Harington is satisfied with his character's ending. If you miss Game of Thrones, check out everything we know about the Targaryen-centric prequel series in the works, titled House of the Dragon.
