Euron Greyjoy is known for being a little outspoken—to say the least—and it seems that the actor who brought the bad boy of the seas to life follows suit.

Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk stopped by to speak to People last night at the 2020 SAG Awards and was asked if he often gets recognized for being the evil uncle to Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). He revealed that his most recent interaction with fans hasn’t been so pleasant. He explained, “You know, what I get most now is like, ‘Why did you guys f**k up season 8?'”

While the divisive final season of the fantasy show caused an uproar in the fandom, Asbæk stated that the cast was over the moon about how it ended. He continued, “When we had the read-through in Belfast, like two and half years ago, we ended up standing and doing a standing ovation for 15, 20 minutes. It was a perfect ending but people were upset.”

Much like his co-star, Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Asbæk compares people’s anger to that of a breakup. He stated:

“I kind of get it, because I was a big fan of the show before I started it and became a part of it, and if it had ended in that way I would have been angry as well. Because when something you like so much says no… it’s like a breakup. It was like a breakup and Game of Thrones broke up with millions of people all over the world and they got upset.”

I guess only time will heal the broken heart GoT gave us.
