The hype for the third season of Stranger Things is real, as we're less than a week away until the fan-favorite series returns on July 4. And the excitement is not only shared by fans, but by the crew behind the show as well--and creators Matt and Ross Duffer just teased what we can expect when we travel back to 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana.

While dishing on the upcoming season to Entertainment Weekly, the Duffer Brothers dropped tons of hints and small bits of info to get us ready for what's to come. Apart from spilling that Dustin "may or may not have a brand-new girlfriend," and that Jonathan and Nancy's relationship is "strained," they also teased the dangers our favorite characters will face.

When discussing what Eleven will be up to this season, Ross Duffer teased, "No longer trapped in the cabin, Eleven ventures out into the world and becomes good friends with Max. But their summer fun is short-lived when they make a horrifying discovery…"

We can only speculate what this "horrifying discovery" is, but we're thinking it might have to do with Billy Hargrove. Fans have been theorizing since the first Season 3 trailer that the bad boy would become the new monster, and the final trailer all but confirmed the idea. As for the series creators, Matt Duffer shared of the character in the upcoming season:

"Billy is now a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins Pool but he will soon find himself pulled into a never-ending nightmare. This season is a major one for Billy — he really takes center stage this year, and we can’t wait for people to see Dacre [Montgomery]’s performance."

Only a few days left until we discover if what Max and Eleven find is connected to Billy--or a completely new threat we aren't even ready for.
