Doctor Strange is all about the girl power!

ComicBook.com reports that Stephen Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch sat down with BuzzFeed this week to promote his new film, The Current War. In the interview, he was asked what he thinks of the Marvel fandom’s push to see an all-female MCU film reminiscent of the A-Force comic book series. The 43-year old actor responded, “Yeah, bring it, why not? There's space for that definitely. We're seeing the rise of the female superhero and why not? It'd be great.”

We know Cumberbatch is hardly the first MCU actor to support the idea, with the most vocal of stars being Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel. Most recently, the Academy Award winner told Variety of their progress, “I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to [Marvel Studios President] Kevin [Feige] and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this.'”

The idea of an all-female film picked up serious speed when Marvel Studios put together that amazing scene in Endgame where all the ladies unite against Thanos. Though fans might have to wait a while for this to come to life, as the studio has a pretty busy filming schedule in the next few years, we will get to see Scarlett Johansson show the world what girls are made of in Black Widow, out in theaters May 1, 2020.
