The hype for Stranger Things Season 3 really heightened this past summer after the show's cast began teasing the upcoming plot.

The Netflix series' stars have called the season its darkest one yet, warning that there is a "brutal" threat out there facing Hawkins' residents. On the flip-side, Season 3 has also been dubbed the "Summer of Love," with various romances included.

David Harbour, who plays fan-favorite Sheriff Jim Hopper in the series, is now providing more teasers. The Emmy Award-nominated actor says there will be plenty of love to go around this season.

"It’s got a lot of love, and it always has from the very beginning. That’s the thing that’s very special about the show, it has tremendous heart," Harbour told Collider. "I always get choked up when I watch it, and this season is no different. It takes a lot of risks, but in its essence it’s going to smack you in the heart. It’s really funny and it’s really beautiful and there are some big, big surprises.”

Harbour also says the new season will have a different vibe from previous ones and features a few characters sporting new looks.

"It’s bigger, and it’s more Spielbergian. I felt Season One was very Stephen King, Season Two was very Spielberg, and we get even more Spielbergian in our aesthetic," he said. "It’s got a lot of color to it this year, we really get into the ‘80s more; it’s ’85, Hopper has a whole new getup, he’s got a mustache — we’re leaning into it in a really fun, interesting way."

We absolutely cannot wait for Stranger Things Season 3 to premiere on Netflix on July 4.
