Whoever once doubted Ryan the temp is surely mistaken now! The actor behind The Office's Ryan Howard, BJ Novak, has certainly seen success since his time on the Dunder Mifflin workplace comedy. The 40-year-old star went on to land a role on The Newsroom and on Mindy Kaling's TV show The Mindy Project, as well as writing a #1 New York Times bestseller with The Book with No Pictures, among other books. Diehard fans knew this guy was talented just from his writing credits on The Office, and now, he has an exciting new project in the works.

As reported by Variety, Novak has a half-hour anthology series on the way from FX! No word on what genre the show will be, but we can expect each episode to be inspired by "issues of our times." And already, the untitled project is star-studded, including the likes of Academy Award nominee Lucas Hedges, Golden Globe nominee Kaitlyn Dever, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Jon Bernthal, just to name a few.

The Harvard University alum is, understandably, super excited about the project, saying in a statement:

"Thrilled, excited, humbled — these are the words in every press release, and I can’t believe how much I actually mean them. This is my dream show, and FX is the dream place to make it. When I brought it to FX, I wondered if it went too far, and they told me, you can go further. I can’t wait to get started."

Novak's FX series does not have a release date yet, though he does have yet another exciting project in the works as well. The writer teamed up with Blumhouse for a horror movie called Vengeance, for which he'll be directing. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that production for the film has been put on hold due to coronavirus safety concerns, but we're excited to see what it's all about when they're safe to resume.

Novak clearly knows what he's doing in the entertainment sphere, and we can't wait to hear more about these upcoming projects.
