Ariana Grande is in the middle of her Sweetener World Tour, and it looks like a few songs and locations have proved to be particularly emotional for the 25-year-old superstar. Particularly, references to her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

The "Thank U, Next" singer performed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, last night--the city in which Mac grew up. According to US Weekly, Ariana broke down "several times" throughout the show, most noticeably while performing her track "Raindrops (An Angel Cried)." The song has been rumored to be about Ari and Mac's split, so it's understandable it got to her. The singer reportedly couldn't finish the song.

Ariana also got choked up while singing "Thank U, Next," when mentioning Mac's name. Concertgoers reportedly finished the lyric for her while she calmed down and was able to continue.

According to Twitter users, Ari also paid tribute to Mac in other ways than just her songs last night. "Ariana really had a Mac Miller playlist for the music before the show and she has an empty seat reserved for him," one wrote. Another tweeted, "Ariana is full on sobbing her ENTIRE concert tonight bc she’s in Mac’s city. Played his album on the speakers before she got on stage, couldn’t say his name in thank u, next without losing her voice tonight."

Ari and Mac were a fan-favorite couple, dating for nearly two years before splitting in May 2018. The "Dang" rapper sadly suffered an accidental overdose just months later in Sept. 2018, and passed away. We know Mac will forever live in Ariana's heart.
