TMZ has reported 26-year-old rapper Mac Miller has passed away today after an apparent overdose. No other details are known at this time.
Miller had trouble with substance abuse over the years, something which is believed to have gotten worse since his split from Ariana Grande in May. The rapper crashed his car back in the same month, and was arrested for a DUI and hit and run. He reportedly blew two times the legal limit.
After his breakup with Grande, the 25-year-old singer revealed Miller was dealing with substance abuse issues during their two-year relationship. The rapper only had good things to say about his ex once she got engaged to Pete Davidson.
Miller's fifth studio album, Swimming, was released this August, and showcased the fairly new jazzy-funk sound he had been experimenting with as of his latter discography. He was set to go on tour starting in October, alongside openers Thundercat and J.I.D.
Rest in peace, Mac Miller. Truly gone too soon.
