As excited as we all get about Batman movies, we have to admit that there have been quite a few of them. Though each of the actors have brought their own flavor to the role of the Caped Crusader, it is important for the directors and fandom alike that each movie be something new and exciting.

Luckily, Timothée Chalamet believes that Robert Pattinson will bring just that to the upcoming Matt Reeves movie, The Batman. The 23-year-old Academy Award nominee stopped to talk to Variety on the red carpet this week at the premiere of his forthcoming film, The King. In the brief interview, Chalamet is asked what he thinks about his co-star taking on the role of Bruce Wayne.

Chalamet enthusiastically responds, “I think it’s going to be awesome…and I just know it’s going to be fresh. And I don’t know in what direction, but I just know it’s going to be a great new thing.”

The Beautiful Boy star then goes to muse about the fact that Batman and Joker are the big roles to play now…or maybe again. He also hinted that, as a little boy, he had his eye on a more supporting role for Batman. “People in the elevator, when I was growing up…they’d ask me, ‘What’s your name?’ and I’d say, ‘Robin,'” Chalamet recalled.

Who knows, maybe one day we will see Chalamet don the green spandex of Dick Grayson. One thing's for sure, though: he shares our excitement about Pattinson’s starring role in The Batman.
