'The Office' Star Ellie Kemper Cast in 'Home Alone' Reboot for Disney+

There's a new Home Alone ready to hit Disney+. The reboot will feature Archie Yates as the lead role, Kevin McCallister, formerly played by Macaulay Culkin in the 1990 original. Yates shot to fame for his role in Jojo Rabbit.

Along with Yates, Rob Delaney of Catastrophe and Bombshell, has also been cast in the film with Ellie Kemper. Ellie rose to fame for playing Erin Hannon in The Office then later starred in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

It's inconclusive if Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper are to be cast as Archie Yates' parents. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kemper and Delaney are playing Yates' mom and dad. However, according to ScreenRant, they are cast for different roles, as yet unannounced.

The Home Alone reboot is a huge feat for Disney+, which is already proving to be a massive success in the world of online streaming. According to ScreenRant, Disney+ gained 10 million subscribers on its opening day. Disney+ is even reported to be a threat to Netflix, with its nostalgic appeal for adult subscribers.

Home Alone will mark the first original movie made by the new streaming service. Filming is expected to begin in 2020, where we'll find out what roles Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney are actually playing!
