After months of hype, casting, and speculation, filming has officially begun for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. CBR reports that the director posted a picture to his Twitter account of a movie marker with the film’s title and his name, and tagged Australian cinematographer, Greg Frasier.

The Let Me In director has been fueling the excitement for the film via his Twitter the last few months, announcing major decisions being made for the movie such as Peter Sarsgaard’s casting in a secret role, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, and Paul Dano as Edward Nigma/Riddler.

Let’s not forget Bruce Wayne himself, played in this installation by Robert Pattinson. Back in June, the 53-year-old director tweeted a GIF of Pattinson along with three bat emojis, confirming that the Good Time star would take on the Caped Crusader.

While filming might’ve just officially started, Pattinson has been working hard for the last few months. News broke back in November that the 33-year-old actor had begun training with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu master Rigan Machado. Machado is famous in Hollywood, training action stars like Vin Diesel, Charlie Hunnam, and Keanu Reeves for major roles.

Maybe Reeves will also share a picture of Pattinson’s new Batman bod on his Twitter. Hey... a girl can dream.
