'Teen Mom's Maci Bookout Teases Pregnancy News as She's Slammed for Clickbait

Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout posted a picture to her Instagram and Twitter accounts this week of her getting an ultrasound by the side of her husband, Taylor McKinney, along with a link for the "pregnancy" story. The post amplified an already popular rumor that the MTV star was expecting, so naturally many fans went to the Champion Daily website linked to hear about their favorite TM lady.

What they found when they did, however, was that it was merely clickbait. PopCulture.com reports that the link was posted by a company hired to use people like Bookout’s social media presence to make money. Though Bookout and her castmates have been open about using the service, this time fans felt seriously cheated.

One Twitter user replied to the story, “Wait, did you just link a page that has 12 pages of click bait just to say you are NOT pregnant? SMH.” Another slammed Bookout, writing, “It’s kinda sad that you girls post these click baits [sic] about being pregnant. There are lots of women who long to have a baby and can’t and are fans of yours... kind of like a slap in their faces. Not a good look at all.”

Despite the backlash, Bookout has remained silent. PopCulture.com reports that she doesn’t feel the need to address the rumors every time they arise, which, let’s face it, is a lot. According to their sources, the mom-of-three and McKinney have no interest in expanding their family.

We will have to see if Bookout apologizes to her fans, or if the clickbait will continue business as usual.
