'Teen Mom 2's Javi Marroquin Covers Up Briana DeJesus Tattoo as Anniversary Gift to Lauren Comeau

When you're in a relationship, there are often times you have to compromise to make the person you love happy. Even if that means taking some drastic measures.

Teen Mom 2 star Javi Marroquin learned that this past weekend, as the 26-year-old father celebrated his anniversary with girlfriend Lauren Comeau by taking a trip to the tattoo shop. But instead of declaring his love for his woman with a tattoo for her, he instead covered up some ink he previously got dedicated to his ex-girlfriend.

Last year, Javi and then-girlfriend Briana DeJesus got matching tattoos, with him getting a king chess piece and her getting a queen. Well, apparently Lauren wasn't too happy about seeing that ink everyday, and Javi took action.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Javi posted a photo of him with his new ink, along with the caption: "Checkmate. Shoutout to my man @mikemaratattoo over @aggressiontattoo for burying my past away. Happy anniversary babe @lauren3elizabeth. Kids, don’t get tattoos."

While Javi has turned off his comments since then, Lauren did answer a fan before he did so, confirming Javi covered up the "King" tat because of her. "Your anniversary gift is covering a tattoo you got with your ex?," one wrote, to which Lauren commented back, "yup, that's what I asked for." She added, "Officially clean of all connections and ties, a completely clean slate to start our next chapter."

Fans have had mixed reactions to the post. While discussing it on the Facebook group Teen Mom Talk (TMT), one wrote, "Why would he post this? I completely understand her wanting him to cover it or remove it... but it’s also a little weird that she had to ask." Another added, "The pair of them are so immature, who would even post this?!"

However, some defended Javi and Lauren, with one stating, "S**t I’d have my man do the same if he had something tattooed of his ex."

No matter how you feel about Javi's newly-covered tattoo, one thing is for sure: He's definitely dedicated to proving to Lauren how serious he is about this relationship.
