Halloween is in just a few days, and with the spooky day comes an opportunity for fans to translate their love for characters and universes into their own reality. Every year, costumes reflect that year’s biggest cultural hits, but with so many great movies released in 2019, it is tough to say what character will be the most popular.

Entertainment Weekly reports that FandangoNOW, Fandango’s streaming service, asked more than 1,000 "millennial fans" what movie characters they were going to dress as for the spookiest night of the year. Naturally, the comic book-inspired characters won out.

The top choice for the female character category is Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, followed by Rey from the Star Wars franchise, and Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent. The pick for the male character category is Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, followed by Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and Chris Evans’ Captain America.

For the group category, the MCU also took the gold. Avengers: Endgame took first prize, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker took silver, and Toy Story 4 came in at bronze.

Though these were the top picks, other superheroes also made the top ten. For the ladies, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Danai Gurira’s Okoye, and Karen Gillan’s Nebula were all listed. For the fellas, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man (obvi), Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk were up there.

No matter your flavor of superhero or villain, we hope you have a happy (and safe) Halloween!
