'Stranger Things' Star Natalia Dyer Dishes on 'Scarier' Third Season

Stranger Things fans are hungry for information about the upcoming Season 3, but the show's actors have been tight-lipped about the much-anticipated episodes which will be hitting Netflix on July 4, 2019.

“It’s set in the summer, it’s in the ‘80s,” Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler in the hit show, recently told MTV News on the third season. Though summer is a time for light-hearted fun for most teenagers, the 22-year-old actress revealed the season will have the opposite vibe.

“It does feel bigger, just filming it — obviously I haven’t seen any of it, but it does feel bigger, darker, scarier,” Dyer said. “It felt like they noticeably bumped it up to a different level this season. So I’m excited to see it, too. I don’t know how they do it, [creators] the [Duffer] brothers, but yeah, I’m excited.”

Dyer explained she can’t reveal any more information to fans, as she hasn’t even told family or friends the secrets, either. “Honestly, a lot of them haven’t even seen the show,” she surprisingly admitted. “No, really, they haven’t!”

Director-executive producer Shawn Levy has also discussed the darkness that’s in store for the show come Season 3.

JULY 4

“I can only promise you that Season 3 eventually goes places that are darker and unquestionably more action-packed than we’ve ever gone before,” Levy toldThe Playlist this past August. "It would be a mistake for anyone to think that Season 3 is the summer of fun and lightness because it’s a whole lot more than that."

We can't wait to see how summer and scary mix together in the third season when Stranger Things returns July 4.
