Although production for Stranger Things Season 4 is still on pause as the COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately continues, that isn't stopping fans from being extremely excited for what's to come, or from creating theories around all the cliffhangers the last episode left us with. Thankfully, star Joe Keery is here to drop a crumb of a tease for the new season, and it has us desperate for more.

The actor, who plays Steve Harrington in the Netflix series, recently spoke to Total Film to promote his new film Free Guy, and of course, just had to touch on Stranger Things. As reported by GamesRadar, Keery shared of Season 4, "I think that this year – and I know I say this every single year – but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years, because last year was pretty dark." As Season 3 included Billy Hargrove being possessed by the Mind Flayer and Eleven having more disturbing visions than ever before, we'd have to agree that things got seriously dark. But with the kids growing up and the threats of Hawkins and beyond likely getting stronger, it only makes sense that things are going to get more frightening.

As the season hasn't been completely filmed yet and a release date is nowhere in sight, fans haven't gotten much information so far on what we can expect. However, the first teaser which dropped on Valentine's Day did reveal the very major plot point that Jim Hopper is alive after all, which makes the wait for Season 4 all the more difficult, but definitely worth it.

We'll keep an eye out for any more clues about Season 4 to come, and hope Keery and his co-stars are ready to drop some more teasers in the meantime.
