This article contains spoilers for ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3.

Season 3 of Stranger Things included a lot of firsts, such as exploding rats, an army of the "flayed," and romantic relationships for the kids. But what fans were not expecting was the death of one of the major characters.

Jim Hopper’s demise was one of the most heartbreaking moments of the season. His quiet goodbye to Joyce (especially after they finally decided to give their romantic feelings for each other a shot) had many fans in tears.

But though we see others die in the key explosion, Hopper’s disintegration was not shown on screen. Does this mean that we will see our favorite dad once again?

Despite the obvious cliffhanger given to us in the post-credits scene where the Russians mention an American being held in their cells, ScreenRant reports that there might be another indicator that Hopper (played by David Harbour) could be back for Season 4.

Per ScreenRant, TV Line's Michael Ausiello was recently asked about Hopper's potential return, to which he responded: "Harbour's current contract carries him through a potential fourth season (and possibly beyond), but that doesn’t necessarily mean producers will pick up his Season 4 option."

Though Season 4 hasn’t officially been confirmed yet, the post-credits teaser, along with the record-breaking viewership of this season, makes it pretty obvious that the Hawkins crew will be back at least one more time…with or without Hopper.
