If you still haven't seen Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, you might want to look away. But for those who've already seen the final flick in the Skywalker Saga, we have another juicy moment to discuss. Spoilers ahead.

There are many mysteries of the galaxy far, far away—one of the biggest in the latest trilogy being about Kylo Ren and Rey. Will they or won't they? Should they or shouldn't they? Well, they finally did, and now we have some much-needed insight from one of the people behind the film.

When it came to the kiss, editor Maryann Brandon dished to The Huffington Post:

“I always said, ‘The movie will tell us whether they should kiss or not. We will know by the time we get to the end of our process, if it should happen.’ And I felt it should, and [J.J. Abrams] agreed with me, and other people who saw the film agreed.”

Brandon continued:

“I know it’s not for everybody. I know there will be people who wish they hadn’t, but this is a film that was never going to please everyone, and I think that the reviews are kind of reflective of that. The things that certain people love, other people hated. And that’s the phenomenon of ‘Star Wars.”

True that. The fans have been pretty torn on whether or not this plot point made sense or was necessary.

Considering what happened right after their lip-lock, the kiss was a big deal, whether you're here for it or not. Catch The Rise of Skywalker again while it's still in theaters to think it over once more.
