John Boyega, who fans know for playing Finn in the recent Star Wars trilogy, is receiving heat from fans after he took to Twitter to joke about a potential romance for his character with Rey (Daisy Ridley). To make matters worse, Boyega is fighting back, and his Twitter is basically one hot mess right about now.

According to CinemaBlend, it all started when a fan jokingly posted about Finn being able to kiss Rey after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Boyega replied, "It's not about who she kisses but about who eventually lays the pipe." Oh boy!

Many fans were upset by this comment, pointing out the fact that "lay the pipe" usually refers to more extreme sexual intercourse. Others felt like it was a strange thing to say, especially since Boyega and Ridley are pals in real life.

Then Boyega poked fun at the "romance" between Rey and Kylo, pointing out how violent it was.

Fans called Boyega out for the tweet, saying it was misogynistic and made light of violent relationships. Others asked if he was in love with Ridley. In response, Boyega reminded people that Star Wars is fictional.

But fans weren't backing down and neither, apparently, was Boyega.

People are obviously very invested in Star Wars relationships, even hypothetical ones, and it was definitely entertaining, to put it lightly, seeing Boyega respond.
