By Olivia Montine

Stan Lee, the late creator of many of Marvel's classic superheroes, is also famous for having a cameo in all of the MCU movies. When he passed, many fans wondered what the company would do to honor his memory with so many new movies, including Captain Marvel, already slated to come out at the time of his passing.
Fans who already watched the newest installment (and first female-led) to the universe saw that Lee did not just have a cameo--but Marvel paid him tribute in a very special way. Spoilers Ahead.
During the opening credits, viewers saw the traditional Marvel comics introduction which features scenes from the comics behind the movie, replaced with clips of all of Lee's cameos. This, combined with an actual cameo in the movie itself pretty early on, left many fans emotional.
The scene where Carol Danvers famously punches the old woman on the train also featured Lee, as when she walked by the seated people, we saw the late mogul look up behind a newspaper.
