In 2017, Hasbro announced that they would be taking one of their most famous role-playing games, Dungeons & Dragons, to the big screen.

However, Deadline reports that, just like the game, making moves with the film has been a war. Warner Bros. and New Line tried to get multiple versions of the project off the ground, eventually losing steam. But it seems things are now back on track, despite the obstacles.

Comicbook.com reports that Spider-Man: Homecoming writers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are in talks with Paramount Pictures and Hasbro to direct the D&D film.

The Hawkins boys from Stranger Things would be so thrilled!

The Dungeons & Dragons film will be one of the first for the newly-created AllSpark Pictures production company, formed by the Hasbro to develop projects based on its games.

The film, written by Michael Gillio, is set to be released on July 23, 2021.
