Samuel L. Jackson Says Stan Lee Could Still Appear in Marvel Films Through 3D Scanning

Stan Lee's death last November saddened and shocked the Marvel faithful. Lee's legacy in the comics industry was cemented early on in his career, but he eventually became known to many young fans for his cameos in Marvel films.

Many fans are expectedly concerned that Lee's death has spelled the end for his hilarious cameos. However, a MCU actor believes the comic book maverick can still appear in live-action films.

On Wednesday, stars of the upcoming movie Captain Marvel did a live panel from Singapore, where Nick Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson suggested that Lee's cameos could still happen.

“He’ll be missed and I’m sure, well, the way they scan us, he might still end up in every Marvel movie we do,” Jackson said. “You’ll be shocked. ‘I thought he was dead. When did he shoot this?’ They probably got a lot of stuff they can stick Stan in just because they scan the rest of us. If they scanned him anywhere near as much as they scan us…”

Jackson's co-star Brie Larson explained what he meant by "scanning."

“There’s a room that has like 100 cameras in it and it scans. It does like a 3D scan of your body like it could create like a hologram,” Larson said.

As awesome as nearly every MCU film is, Stan's cameos were truly the highlight for many fans. During the panel, Jackson explained how impactful Lee's contributions were to his own life.

"I’ve been reading comic books all my life, so Stan’s been one of the great influences of, you know, my life in terms of who they are, how I feel about them, what I think they can do, what I think I’m capable of, and what it means to be on the inside playing particular characters,” Jackson said.

Jackson and Larson's Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8.
