When Australian actress Katherine Langford's promised appearance in Avengers: Endgame was nowhere to be seen, fans were more than a little confused.

During their appearance on the podcast Happy Sad Confused, the directing duo behind the film revealed the reasoning for not including Langford's character anywhere in the over-three-hour film.

The podcast's host, Josh Horowitz, posed the question by asking, "Katherine Langford...what happened there?"

Joe and Anthony Russo went into the explanation of why Langford's role as the grown version of Tony Stark's daughter Morgan did not come to fruition, saying, "There was an idea that we had that Tony was gonna go into the metaphysical weigh station that Thanos goes into...when he snapped his fingers, and that there was gonna be a future version of his daughter in that weigh station."

The pair continued on to add that they, "showed it to a test audience, and it was really confusing for them. We didn't feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter...it wasn't resonating with us on an emotional level."

The Russo brothers concluded their thoughts on why the concept was cut by adding, "It's just too many ideas in an over-complicated movie."

We've now got the confirmation that many assumed Langford's role was, and even though we're sad that we didn't get to see the actress in the film, we're glad they had the best interest of the audience at heart.
