Richard Madden Reacts to Rumors He's Dating Brandon Flynn

Richard Madden has always been a private person. Since he hit the limelight (and our hearts) as Robb Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones, the 32-year-old Scottish hunk has been bombarded by questions about his love life.

The Bodyguard star stayed true to his private demeanor in his latest interview with The New York Times when asked if he was in a relationship with actor Brandon Flynn, while talking about his new role as Sir Elton’s former manager and lover, John Reid, in the Elton John biopic Rocketman.

Madden, who was reportedly in a relationship with actress Ellie Bamber until last year, has recently been photographed several times with Flynn. Flynn, who gained popularity in his role as Justin Foley in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, used to date the singer Sam Smith. Madden and Flynn have become close, and are reportedly living together in Los Angeles.

Madden didn’t confirm or deny the relationship when asked by The New York Times reporter. Instead, he simply shrugged, took a second to respond, and then answered, “I keep my personal life personal. I’ve never talked about my relationships.”

Madden went on to say that he doesn’t like to feed into the tabloid drama, like some celebrities, and explained that he has a few tricks up his sleeve for avoiding unwanted paparazzi attention. “I wear the same clothes days in a row, because if it looks like the same day, they can’t run the pictures," he said. "There’s only so many photos you can have of me with a green juice walking down the street.”

Rocketman, released on May 31, has already made a soaring $25 million at the box office.
