The number one weapon at fans’ disposals these days is the infamous petition, and now Johnny Depp lovers are pulling it out of their arsenal and directing their rage directly at Aquaman star Amber Heard.

ComicBook.com reports that a petition called "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" has begun circulating on Change.org. The petition, which at the time of writing has roughly 37,500 signatures, states:

“Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp. In his $50 million lawsuit, Johnny Depp describes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one incident where she punched him twice in the face and another where she shattered his finger with a vodka bottle, and his finger had to be surgically reattached. He will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life.”

As you know, the ex-spouses are currently locked in a huge lawsuit in which Depp is alleging that Heard physically abused him. This follows Heard’s allegations that she was the one who was a victim of domestic assault from her then-husband. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing on the grounds that her allegations, specifically The Washington Post op-ed she did on surviving domestic abuse, has damaged his career.

Though it is an ugly situation, it is very unlikely that Warner Bros. will pull the actor from her role of Mera in the upcoming sequel, set to be released Dec. 2022.
