Mindy Kaling Has a New Show Coming to Netflix

Not only does Mindy Kaling have a new show coming out on Netflix, but now it finally has a name! Never Have I Ever will be released on the streaming service next year. What’s even more exciting is that we will get to know Kaling, also known as Kelly Kapoor on The Office, a little bit better by watching it.

The Mindy Project star is basing her new semi-autobiographical series off her own childhood. The Wrap reports that the series will follow the character of Devi, described as “an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations.”

Devi will be played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, a newcomer who Kaling and co-creator Lang Fisher's chose from an open audition. When Kaling announced Ramakrishnan as the choice for Devi on Instagram, she explained that the actress was cast out of 15,000 people adding how excited she was about the project.

We are excited to see Kaling's vision come to life, too! Never Have I Ever is set to debut sometime in 2020.
