Michael B. Jordan Seemingly Confirmed to Return for 'Black Panther' Sequel

With the incredible success following Marvel's Black Panther, it was a no-brainer that a sequel would soon be in the works. And now that director Ryan Coogler has been confirmed to be returning to write and direct the second film, many are wondering if the full cast will also be back. We can assume stars such as Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), and Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia) will return, but what about Michael B. Jordan?

Despite Jordan's Killmonger being a fan-favorite villain, he did meet his demise towards the end of the film. No matter how much we all love the actor, there's probably a slim chance of him reprising his role. Or so we thought.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight at the SAG Awards on Sunday night, star Angela Bassett (Ramonda) and her husband Courtney B. Vance dished on the sequel. But it appears Vance let a major spoiler slip. When asked if everyone would be returning for the next movie, Bassett responded, "I would assume so." Vance then added, "Yes, just go ahead and say it, yes. Everyone will be there. Just yes, yes."

"[We didn’t technically see him] go into the ocean, no," Bassett continued, clearly teasing Jordan's return. Vance then explicitly confirmed, stating, "Including Michael B., yes." We can't wait to see how Marvel reacts to this!

Black Panther went on to win the biggest award of the night at the SAGs for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and in their acceptance speech, Boseman referenced the upcoming sequel. "You can't have a Black Panther now without a '2' on it," he proudly exclaimed.

We hope to know more details on the sequel—including who will be returning—soon.
