It was announced this week that Matthew McConaughey would be joining the Department of Radio-Television-Film in Moody College of Communication at UT Austin beginning fall 2019, UT News reports.

McConaughey has been serving as a guest lecturer at the institution since fall 2015, but has now officially been named a “professor of practice,” and will be instructing the class Script to Screen. The 49-year-old star explained that he developed the curriculum with his own education in mind, sharing:

“It’s the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art – no matter the time or generation. The elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus.”

The Academy Award winner is an alum of UT Austin, completing a film degree in 1993. With a resume like his, it's needless to say that these lucky film students will learn the most exclusive Hollywood insights from their new professor.
