With Avengers: Endgame set to complete Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many fans are fully preparing themselves for at least a few essential characters to meet their demise. Although we did see half the universe fade away at the hands of Thanos’ deadly snap in Avengers: Infinity War, we’re expecting to get most of our fallen heroes back in the next installment, only to likely lose some for a second time. It’s definitely exciting that Endgame will begin introducing exciting new characters central to Phase 4, but we’re guessing the film will have somewhat of a sad tone.

That being said, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige weighed in on the deaths in Endgame while interviewed on the Oscars red carpet yesterday, obviously not being able to give anything away. When asked by etalk who he wants to die, Feige responded with a smile, "I don't want anybody to die! "I like everybody!"

Same, but let’s not get our hopes up here.

Feige went on to talk about the significance Black Panther’s Best Picture nomination has for Marvel, crediting the late Stan Lee and co-creator Jack Kirby for writing the character all those years ago.

The short interview really echoes how fans have been feeling about the MCU, as although we don’t want to say goodbye to some of our favorite characters and close out Phase 3, we know there’s still so much to come. And hopefully with Phase 4, more recognition from critics and even The Academy will come. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
