Kylie Jenner Reveals the Major Wardrobe Malfunction She Had Ahead of the 2018 Met Gala

The Met Gala, one of the biggest nights in fashion, has been postponed indefinitely and did not go ahead as scheduled on May 4, 2020. Every year, the event's theme has celebrities parading on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in all sorts of fabulous ensembles. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the CDC has recommended that large gatherings be canceled to slow the spread of the disease. This year's theme was set to be “About Time: Fashion and Duration,” which I'm sure would have inspired some amazing outfits.
Even though I think Rihanna is the resident queen of the Met Gala, the Kardashian-Jenners are always serving looks at the annual event. The 2019 theme was "Camp: Notes on Fashion," which saw Kylie and Kendall Jenner rocking orange and purple feathered dresses and Kim Kardashian West wearing a waist cinching nude dress dripping in gems. Reflecting on previous Met Gala designs, Kylie revealed that the elegant black Alexander Wang gown that she wore in 2018, just three months after giving birth to her daughter, actually had to be altered at the last minute.
When looking at the dress from the side, you can see a silver zipper running from Jenner's hip to under her arm. Apparently, the zipper hadn't always been there. As reported by People, Kylie shared a throwback photo of the dress on her Instagram Story along with the caption,"fun fact: this dress wasn't supposed to have a zipper but it ripped as i was squeezing into it so we added it on the way out the door ... but it worked out and i loved it." I would have never known!
Even though she got roasted that year for not really adhering to the theme of "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," I thought Kylie's floor length black getup was gorgeous. Hopefully, the outfits at the next Met Gala will be all the more awesome because everyone had extra time to plan!
