VIDEO: Watch Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Get Emotional Over Annual Christmas Party

The Kardashian family is no stranger to lavish parties, but one of the longtime hallmarks of the clan has been mother Kris Jenner’s bombastic Christmas parties. This week, however, a clip from Keeping Up with the Kardashians recounted a new development in the planning party saga: Kim Kardashian took control of the party, bringing Jenner to tears.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, the clip shows events leading up to 2018's Kardashian Christmas party, and sees the 38-year-old reality star informing her mother that she will be hosting the party at her own home.
“The time has come that maybe we switch the location [of the party] and we have it here at our house,” Kardashian says, adding that her husband, Kanye West, would “have so many ideas” for hosting a stylish bash. She also adds that Jenner’s parties typically feature people they don't even know, and that all of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings agree that they have “a different vibe and different energy.”
Subsequently, Jenner begins to cry, prompting Kardashian to explain that, “I want you to give us your blessing. I don't want to just steal it from you.”
Jenner tearfully explains that she is not upset at Kim, only wistful. “I want you guys to be able to do this 'til you're my age and one of your kids takes over,” she says. “That's the joy. The thought of actually not doing it at my house…It makes me so sad.” Kardashian, upon hearing this, begins to tear up herself.
“It’s just that magic that you can make and make everybody feel so amazing on one night a year. It’s that love,” said Jenner. “It’s not just a party. It’s a changing of the guards.” Ultimately, she gives her blessing to Kardashian, saying that it’s the “right thing.”
In the end, we’re glad to see that Jenner and Kardashian were able to come to an amicable resolution about the party. It’s always good to have a reminder that, below all of the glitz and glamor, there’s plenty of tenderness and love in the Kardashian family.
