Kim Kardashian Called Out for Allegedly Trying to Look Black in New Photo
By Olivia Montine

Kim Kardashian has found herself at the center of yet another social media debate.
Following Kardashian posting a picture sporting a lace, cheetah print bodysuit to her profile, an artist on Twitter created a drawing of the photo that sparked some controversy.

In the original series of pictures, Kardashian West is shot in the sheer bodysuit and a beret. What sparked a conversation wasn't this original photo set, but the drawing that came after which West reposted it.

Many users said that the drawing portrayed Kardashian much darker than she was in real life or in the original photo. Fans were quick to call out both the artist and Kardashian for reposting it.
The artist, British fashion illustrator and artist Hayden Williams, explained the difference that many took offense to in a series of tweets explaining why his drawing, and artistic choice, were not intended to be offensive in any way.
It seems I have to reiterate again.
— Hayden Williams (@Hayden_Williams) March 7, 2019
My style of art is not meant to be an exact replica of the people I illustrate. They are not portraits, as i am not a portrait artist. These are fashion illustrations and are STYLISED interpretations of who I choose to illustrate. Not realism
Williams and Kardashian were met with a mix of support and criticism over the drawing, with some fans accepting Williams' explanation and others saying that the change in skin tone was unacceptable.
boy i love you but we both know damn well her skin’s not that dark

One user went as far as to alter the drawing back to the color that more accurately reflected the original photos.
