Kevin Feige Confirms Marvel's First Trans Character Will Be Introduced in Movie They're 'Shooting Right Now'

There are more exciting changes coming from Marvel Studios and President Kevin Feige is giving us some insight as to what some of the plans are.
Feige recently spoke to the New York Film Academy and answered some questions. According to E! News, one member of the audience asked if Marvel was working on something which would offer more representation for the LGBTQ+ community, specifically a transgender character.
He responded, "Yes, absolutely yes. And very soon. In a movie that we're shooting right now."
Feige didn't clarify which movie this new character would be appearing in, but was forthcoming with more details on how the studio will be more inclusive moving forward. Another member of the audience asked how they would be committing to diversity, especially after the advances that came from Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
He responded positively:
"Every time we do a movie, we hope it's going to succeed so that we can make another movie. That's always the idea. And with those two films in particular—Black Panther and Captain Marvel—we wanted to keep showcasing heroes from the comics that represent the world that goes to see our movies. So, our intention was always to continue to do that."
The Marvel boss also proudly noted that the next two films coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are both directed by women—Cate Shortland for Black Widow and Chloé Zhao for The Eternals. It sounds like Feige is continuing to move the studio in a positive direction!
