The Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking to make another groundbreaking impact in the superhero film genre.
After fans have speculated and encouraged Marvel Studios to introduce an openly LGBT hero, it looks like one will come in the near future.

In an interview with ET, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked which of the following is the closest to happening in the MCU: the introduction of Kamala Khan, a Nova movie, an LGBT superhero, or another Taika Waititi film.
Feige gave a hopeful answer: "I think all of those are percolating and -- let's put it this way: They're all percolating. I do want to keep the focus on this one and on the immediate future, but everything you just named are percolating, some closer than others."
While Feige didn't single out the aspect of an LGBT hero, his comment comes just a few days after Marvel's production chief Victoria Alonso told Variety that the "world is ready" for LGBT representation in the MCU.

Rumors have circulated for a while that the MCU plans to introduce their first openly gay male superhero. One rumor earlier this month claimed the studio is specifically looking at Ikaris from The Eternals, a project which is reportedly going to begin filming in September.

Thus far, the MCU has introduced Valkyrie, who is openly bisexual in the comics, but her appearance in Thor: Ragnarok didn't explicitly touch on the subject.
It's about time for the MCU to introduce openly LGBT characters, because all demographics deserve heroes who are representative of who they are.
