Kendall Jenner is finally starting to feel the heat for her connection to the scandalous Fyre Festival.

The 23-year-old model, along with fellow model Emily Ratajkowski, and musicians Pusha T, Migos, Blink-182, and Lil Yachty are reportedly being sued by Fyre Media’s bankruptcy trustee Gregory Messer, Hype Beast reports.

Messer hopes that the lawsuits will recover money that people like Billy McFarland stole from investors and attendees and gave to celebrities, vendors, and agencies.

The Fyre Festival was a fraudulent event put on by Fyre Media in 2017. It was promoted as a luxury music festival by influencers like Jenner, and tickets sold for $500-$1,500 for day passes, and $12,000 for VIP packages.

When guests arrived to the festival in the Bahamas, however, they found themselves eating prepackaged sandwiches instead of five-star meals, and staying in FEMA tents instead of lavish villas. McFarland pled guilty to one count of wire-fraud and a second count of defrauding a ticket vendor in March 2018, and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Now, Jenner might have to pay the piper for her involvement. She was supposedly paid $275,000 to announce a particular band was set to perform at the festival on her Instagram, without actually divulging that she was being paid to do so.

Back in April, Jenner spoke out to the New York Times about how she got mixed up in this disaster, saying at the time, “You get reached out to by people to, whether it be to promote or help or whatever, and you never know how these things are going to turn out, sometimes it’s a risk.”

It was a risk I’m sure she is regretting taking now.
