Jay Z Weighs in on New Verse Speculated to Be About Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

The Jay Z-Kanye West friendship has been complicated in recent years. Sure, Kanye has always been a character who lets the world know of his controversial positions, but his recent alignment with Donald Trump has made him more polarizing, even with his buddy Jay Z.

Jay was recently featured on Meek Mill's new song "What's Free," where he rapped a verse: "No red hat, don't Michael and Prince me and Ye. They separate you when you got Michael and Prince's DNA, uh. I ain't one of these house N****s you bought. My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours. My spou-(C'mon man). My route better of course."

Many believed that verse was a clear diss aimed at Kanye and Kim Kardashian.

However, in a rare move, Jay-Z took to Twitter to share what he actually meant.

This was the rapper's first tweet since July 2017, so clearly he felt it was his responsibility to clarify that he and Kanye are not at odds.

We're happy the drama is apparently over between the West and Carter families. Hopefully, we will finally get more musical collaborations between the legendary rappers.
