'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Reveals How She Relaxes After Intense Shoots

Game of Thrones is by far one of the most most gruesome shows in television history. The series has featured characters getting skewered in the neck, tortured to death by rats, and decapitations, just to name a few.
Top all of that with the sad deaths of beloved characters who have been on the show for multiple seasons, and it's a difficult watch at times not just for fans, but also for the show's stars.
Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, told BBC Radio 1 that after shooting intense scenes, she searches for ways to relax. Her main source for cooling down is watching less-tense TV shows.
"There's two genres that you'll find me in. A lot of time you're filming such intense stuff and you're literally like, 'I can't get involved in a really beautiful movie or in a really great TV series that's going to haunt my dreams. So, Grand Designs--ain't nothing with it! MasterChef--hello! Lovely," Clarke said.
Clarke says she can handle MasterChef because it's more chill, and also because of her love for cooking. "I do love it," she said. "I'm a foodie, I love cooking." The actress also said she's a fan of the British property show, Location, Location, Location, and other daytime television.
"Every once in a while you're like, 'I need to turn my brain off, I'm just going to see what property is doing in London at the moment,'" Clarke admitted.
Though Clarke is likely relieved that she's through with shooting intense Game of Thrones scenes, we're sure she's just as sad as us that the show is entering its final season in April.
