'Game of Thrones' Fans Seriously Upset by Posters That Contain Previous Season Spoilers

Game of Thrones posters appeared in New York City subway stops this week, and while fans usually would welcome any GOT aesthetic, many are wildly upset by the choice of images.

The posters, which are promoting the eighth and final season of the epic show, include major spoilers from seasons one through seven, including evidence of the deaths of several main characters.

One fan posted an image of the Grand Central Station posters on Reddit, and the outrage began.

While most die-hard fans have seen all seven seasons, some even multiple times, many fans who jumped on the bandwagon late are not completely caught up.

“I kind of can’t believe they’re spoiling some of the main events from each season with these posters,” one Reddit user wrote. “I get that they’re mainly for show watchers that have seen it all already, but don’t you think they’d take into account the hundreds of thousands of people who will see these that haven’t seen the show yet?”

Another fan commented, “I have some good friends who are only in the first two-four seasons and loving it so far…This is really dumb by HBO. Could easily choose less spoilery pictures.”

Another fan, who was upset with HBO’s choice, wrote, “I agree, I’m appalled that they would ruin big scenes for new watchers. What a shame.”

Season eight of Game of Thrones is set to premiere in April 2019. No spoilers please.
