As Digital Spy reports, Cox is bringing back her famed character from Scream, and is once again stepping into the shoes of Gale Weathers. The publication reports the famed horror film is coming back for its fifth installment, nine years after Scream 4 was released.

In a statement to Deadline, filmmaking group Radio Silence said: "We can't imagine Scream without the iconic Gale Weathers and are so incredibly thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to work with Courteney. We're absolute mega fans of her work and we're so excited to join her in the next chapter of the Scream saga!"

And Cox isn't the only Scream star to re-join the franchise. Matthew Lillard will also return, along with Neve Campbell, and David Arquette! Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, however, the film won't be shooting until later this year, Empire reports. Production will take place in North Carolina and will follow new safety protocols.

It's been a long time coming, but Scream 5 will be here before we know it!
