Fan Theory Argues Major MCU Character Could Make Surprise Appearance in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'

After Avengers: Endgame shocked fans with its three full hours of twists and action, Spider-Man: Far From Home, the film which will conclude Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is going to have to pull some pretty awesome stuff to surprise us. This is why fans have started to speculate if there will be any unexpected characters in the upcoming sequel, including an appearance from a beloved MCU superhero.
ComicBook.com reports that Reddit users are discussing whether or not Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man could make a surprise cameo, which would be all the more unexpected considering he died in Endgame.
Reddit user Dkmistry23 claims that one scene in the Far From Home trailer is hiding an Iron Man appearance right in front of our eyes. The scene in question shows Peter Parker in the back of a car, taking off his shades with a shocked look on his face. The fan argues that Parker isn’t shocked to see something outside of the car window, but instead at seeing that the sunglasses he’s wearing have a recorded video message from Tony Stark. The message from Stark will, as the Redditor believes, urge him to start a life outside of being a superhero, just like Iron Man did with Pepper Potts. This could potentially then prompt Parker to take the trip to Europe with his friends, and then start a relationship with MJ.
This theory does seem plausible considering Tony is known for his messages to loved ones, and his appearance would connect Endgame to Far From Home. Plus, it would also give fans one last chance to see our favorite fallen hero.
However, if Iron Man doesn’t make an appearance, there will still, of course, be mentions of him, as proved from the trailer which sees Parker mourning the loss of his mentor.
Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres on July 2.
