Chadwick Boseman Almost Broke Andy Serkis' Ribs During 'Black Panther' Filming

With 2018 coming to a close, fans are praising Black Panther as one of the top movies of the year. Among some of the most memorable scenes in the movie is no doubt the South Korean car chase.

And one of the actors involved in the scene just revealed he nearly had his ribs broken during a take. Andy Serkis, who plays super-villain Klaw in the film, says when filming the scene for the first time, Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa) landed on his chest with so much force that his ribs almost cracked.

"The chase ends up with T'Challa... chasing me and catching me," Serkis began while talking to PeopleTV's Couching Surfing. "It was a night shoot and the very first take he kneed me so hard in the chest because he couldn't really see with his mask on. I felt like he had broken my ribs in the very first take."

Luckily, the injury wasn't too severe and Serkis was able to shoot further takes.

A Black Panther sequel is currently in the works, with director Ryan Coogler returning as writer and director.
