'Captain Marvel' Easter Egg Could Be a Callback to the First 'Avengers' Movie
By Kwadar Ray

Captain Marvel’s second trailer was released earlier this week and it may have been more awesome than the first one released a few months ago.
And while you may have been more focused on Carol Danvers' intense but hilarious dialogue with Nick Fury, you likely did not catch an important Easter Egg linking the film to the first Avengers movie.
During the new trailer, Carol and Fury are seen stealing a Quinjet that shows the P.E.G.A.S.U.S. logo. Fans with a keen eye may remember that Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. was the name of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s secret place of studying the Tesseract, which took place in a facility located in the Mojave Desert.
The new CAPTAIN MARVEL trailer featured a brief look at a logo for Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., the name of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret operation of studying the Tesseract seen at the beginning of THE AVENGERS! pic.twitter.com/vArPuB33go

The Tesseract was housed in the facility before Loki destroyed it in The Avengers. It's entirely possible that the infiltration by Skrulls, led by Talos, is part of a scheme to retrieve the Tesseract and foster its powers.
It’s just a possibility, but ultimately, the Easter Egg shows the movie fits properly into the MCU timeline and can lead to corresponding events in further Marvel movies.
